Last month, Ottawa was taken over by two enormous creatures as part of the live street performance La Machine.
For four days, the giant beasts—a smoke-breathing dragon named Long-Ma and water-spraying spider named Kumo—lived among Ottawa civilians, roaming around the city 24 hours a day to perform a theatrical show titled, The Spirit of the Dragon-Horse, With Stolen Wing. This performance marks the North American debut for La Machine, which is a France-based production company.
Much Digital Studios Creator Michael Rizzi spent a few days in the nation’s capital to catch the exciting performance. Returning to the city he and his partner Chris called home for four years, Rizzi found himself among hoards of spectators to get up close with the two mechanical machines.
