Man-Made Mountains In Quebec City? Only At The Jamboree

If you are a fan of watching extreme skiing and snowboarding, there is no better place to experience it in Quebec than The Jamboree! As host of the Fédération Internationale de Ski World Cup for the 11th year running, the Jamboree is the snowboard event of the year for Quebec’s thrill seekers and adrenaline junkies.

This year, the three-day event took place in Old Québec at Îlot Fleurie. If you don’t know where that is, picture a huge scaffolding (39 metres high and 91 metres long) in the heart of the historical city, sandwiched in between major roads and city walls.

This massive man-made jump hosted athletes representing 17 countries, including local favourites Maxence Parrot, Laurie Blouin, Oceane Fillion, Antoine Truchon and Francis Jobin alongside 400 volunteers and over 25,000 visitors.

And then there’s the after party. Surely you’ve heard of Montreal’s Igloofest? The event partnered with The Jamboree to create a dance party under the stars after the Big Air Event. It was the perfect way let loose and warm up after the chilly evenings we’ve come to expect from Quebec winters.

Locals Fashion Tip: This is not the time to show up in your cutest outfit to impress the masses. Instead, dress to impress with your most eccentric and goofy garb to show your « Iglooswag »! If you think your dad’s old one-piece ski suit is too ugly for this event, you’re mistaken, it’s exactly what you need. The uglier the better!

Happy Jamboree!
