Where To Find The Best Cup Of Coffee In Alberta

If you’re like us, when you travel you are always looking for an awesome new coffee shop or cafe to try. To make your life easier, we travelled to Banff, Calgary and Edmonton to try some of the best coffee, espresso and lattes to bring you a list of our favourites. From frothy lattes to unique blends to tonic water n’ espresso we had our fair share of coffee, and boy was it good! Check out which spots were our favourites in the list below.

Whitebark Cafe

This gem of a cafe is located in a hotel on the main st in Banff. Its location allows you to post up in the cafe or hotel lobby and enjoy yummy baked goods with fresh coffee. Come here to meet friends or bring your laptop and get some work done while looking out the big windows.

Location: 401 Banff Avenue, Banff, AB.
Hours: Open Everyday 6:30 am – 6 pm.

Wild Flour

If you are looking for healthy food and a good cup of coffee look no further than the Wild Flour bakery and cafe. This place has some of the best food in town paired with some really great coffee. Talk about a match made in heaven!

Location: 101-211 Bear Street, Banff, AB.
Hours: Everyday  7 am – 4 pm.

Analog Coffee

Analog Coffee is the perfect place to plan your coffee date. With ample seating, Fratello coffee and a social atmosphere this cafe is the place to be any day of the week.

Location: 740 17th Avenue SW, Calgary, AB.
Hours: Everyday 6:30 am – 12 am.

Phil & Sebastian

An institution in Calgary, Phil & Sebastian have made their mark roasting some of the best beans in the country and continually launching innovative ways to drink coffee to stay and to go. One of their most unique drinks on the menu is the espresso with tonic water… it sounds weird but we assure you it is really tasty. There are several Phil & Sebastian locations although we’d recommend checking out the Simmons Building location, in the up-and-coming East Village.

Monogram Coffee

This small cafe is the perfect place to come for an intimate cup of coffee. Their minimalistic design and an amazing atmosphere is definitely something you don’t want to miss on your next trip to Calgary. And to make things even better, they have a national award-winning team with over 20 years of experience in sourcing, roasting and serving coffee.

Location: 4814 16th Street SW, Calgary, AB.
Hours: Monday to Friday 6:30 am – 9 pm, Saturday 7:30 am – 9 pm and Sunday 7:30 am – 6 pm.

Rosso Coffee Roasters

Rosso roasts and distributes its coffee all across Canada. Not only does their years of experience show in the taste of their coffee, but their dedication to making a good brew is always worth coming back for. Note, there are several locations around the city, but we are loving the Inglewood location, a favourite for local trendsetters in Calgary.

Location: 1400 9th Avenue SE, Calgary, AB.
Hours: Monday to Friday 7 am – 10 pm, Saturday 8 am – 10 pm and Sunday 8 am – 8 pm.

Little Brick Cafe

This is the most unique cafe we have been into in Canada. A little brick house has been transformed into a coffee culture and general store setting the bar for ‘cool’ in the neighbourhood. Come here to cozy up with friends over a cup of joe or to study your brains out by the fire.

Location: 10004 90 st NW, Edmonton, AB.
Hours: Everyday from 8 am – 4 pm.

Credo Coffee

If you are looking for a mingling zone for the office types of Edmonton Credo is your spot. This cafe is packed with young professionals getting their caffeine fix before (and during) a long day in the office. There are two Credo locations although we’d recommend checking out the 104th street one to experience an unique area of Edmonton.

Location: 10134 – 104 Street, Edmonton, AB.

Hours: Monday – Friday 7 am – 6 pm, Saturday 8 am-6 pm and Sunday 10 am – 6 pm.

District Cafe

This big bright beautiful space is so inviting it makes you never want to leave. Come here for their amazing coffee and stay for one of the tasty pastries.

Location: #101, 10011 109th Street, Edmonton, AB.
Hours: Monday – Thursday: 7 am –10 pm, Friday: 7 am – 11 pm, Saturday: 9 am – 11 pm and Sunday: 9 am – 3 pm

Coffee Bureau

An institution for well thought out coffee, the Coffee Bureau is the place to go for a good cup of joe. Come here if you love esthetically pleasing coffee shops that run a little under the radar.

Location: 10505 Jasper Ave, Edmonton, AB.
Hours: Monday to Friday 7 am – 5 pm and Saturday 9 am – 3 pm.
